On Valentine's Day, 2024, over a million Kansas City Chiefs fans gathered for a parade and rally to celebrate the Chiefs winning the 2024 Super Bowl.
During the closing moments of the rally at Union Station of Kansas City, an unknown number of gunmen opened fire, wounding over 20 people, including many children. A local Hispanic community leader, Lisa Lopez- Galvan, lost her life.
Kansas City's resiliency is again demonstrated as its community leaders and citizens have united to support the many lives affected by the tragic events of 2.14.24.
As our brave men and women of law enforcement ran towards the sounds of gunshots on that dark day, the community has raced to assist the many lives affected by the senseless violence.
